General

Unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing by Heritage Cast Iron Radiators, (hereinafter called ´the Company´), the terms and conditions detailed below apply to all transactions between the customer and the Company. The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and each contract will be subject to the terms in force at the time.

The Company specialises in the restoration of reclaimed or salvaged cast iron radiators, some of which may be as much as 100 years old. Whilst this restoration process returns the radiators to their original beauty and heating efficiency, they may be found to have minor imperfections characteristic of their age and method of manufacture.

Unless wall mountings are specified in the order, all radiators will be supplied floor standing, with either integral or separate legs.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all details on the Company´s quotation are correct. The Company requires written confirmation of acceptance of the details as set out in the quotation.

Prices

Unless otherwise specified by the Company in writing, prices shall be exclusive of VAT or any tax which may replace it. VAT will be charged on all orders at the rate currently applicable in law and may be adjusted accordingly should this rate change between acceptance of order and date of delivery.

Technical

Any requirement for bushes to be positioned other than bottom of a radiator must be specified at the time of the order. Bushes fitted will be 15mm as standard. Other sizes must be specified and agreed in writing with the Company when ordering.

Caution

It is important to be aware that cast iron radiators are extremely heavy and are not designed to be flexible. This should be taken into account when considering their final location on site as attempting to ´bend´ a long radiator in transit may cause failure of the gasket between sections which may result in leaks. The Company cannot accept responsibility for damage caused to the integrity of radiators whilst being manoeuvred into position in customer´s premises.

Pipe Work

The Company recommend that pipe work is not altered until radiators are delivered ready to be fixed in their final position. Whilst endeavouring to ensure that pipe centre dimensions supplied are correct, the Company will not accept responsibility for any claims relating to an inaccuracy. We also strongly recommend that your plumber fits a magnetic filter and performs at least one power flush on the system until the PH level of the water is at an acceptable level.

Commissioning

The Company recommends flushing through once additional radiators have been fitted, together with use of a inline filter and suitable inhibitor to guard against corrosion, bacteria and scaling in heating systems.

Deliveries

Unless otherwise agreed by the Company in writing, deliveries will be palletised kerbside only.

The period stated for fulfilment of order and delivery is a guideline only. It is recommended that installation should not be scheduled until the goods have been received and checked. The Company will not be held responsible for any costs involved in arrangement for installation prior to delivery of the order.

All deliveries must be checked and signed for in the presence of the carrier. Any shortages, defects or damage noticed at the time must be detailed on the delivery note and advised to the Company without delay.

Inspection of Goods

Heritage Cast Iron Radiators have taken great care during every process to deliver your bespoke restoration radiators.  To best care for your piece(s) we highly recommend that, in the event, that your order is not to be installed immediately that it is stored in a dry environment without a fluctuation of temperature if it is to remain in the shipped packaging.  Please note that any variation in temperature may cause condensation to form inside the shrink wrap and we highly recommend if radiators are unable to be stored in a dry environment they are unwrapped to prevent oxidisation occurring to the finished product.

All goods must be inspected within 48 hours of delivery and the Company notified of any shortages, scratches or other damage. No goods reported damaged should be installed as the Company will not accept any responsibility whatsoever for such items once fitted. Claims will not generally be considered if not notified to the Company within 48 hours of the time on the signed delivery note.

After inspection, it is recommended that the goods be stored in their original packaging as the Company cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs after delivery.

Signing of the delivery note and inspection within 48 hours will be taken as confirmation that the goods were delivered in good order.

Painted Finish

Colours on the website or colour chart may vary slightly from the finished goods due to lighting conditions of any illustrative photographs or to paint manufacturing tolerances.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Company requires a minimum 30% deposit when placing the order with the balance due, in cleared funds, prior to delivery.

Cancellation of Order

An order cannot be cancelled without the written consent of the Company and the terms which will be advised at the time will indemnify the Company against any losses.

Cancellation of orders for non-standard products and optional tapping positions will be subject to full charge.

Return of Goods

Agreement to the return of goods is at the Company´s discretion. As a general rule the Company will not accept the return of radiators. Valves and other accessories may be accepted for return if they are in the same condition as when first delivered and by prior written agreement. No goods which have been fitted, used or altered in any way will be considered for return to the Company. Returned goods will be subject to a re-stocking charge of 35%. All goods must be appropriately wrapped and transported and costs of return are to be borne by the customer.

Guarantee

This company issues a 25 year Guarantee with its radiators, being limited to free replacement or repair of defective goods and subject to them having been competently installed. Damage caused to radiators through exposure to freezing conditions or incorrect handling during installation or moving to final location will not be covered by the Guarantee. The Guarantee does not cover the cost of labour or damage to property or any consequential loss arising from any damage so caused.

A Guarantee will not be issued for radiators supplied by customers to be refurbished as their history is not known to the Company, therefore our Guarantee does not cover the customers radiator. In this instance we offer a warranty on our own work only.

Our radiator valves are subject to a 5 warranty from the manufacturer

Consequential Loss

The Company accepts no responsibility for any consequential loss or other costs arising from the use of goods supplied.
